Facilities
The West Midlands Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre has been 'purpose-built' to accommodate patients, both as in-patients and out-patients for management/treatment of their condition. At the conceptual stage of developing the centre, it was important to keep in mind the issue of 'cross-infection' and to take all necessary measures to minimise any potential risk of cross-infection in order to maximise patients' well-being and longevity.
The facilities available at the centre include the following:-
- 9 Out-patient consultation rooms
- 20 single bedded rooms for in-patient stays with en-suite facilities
- Treatment rooms for patients to administer 1st dose of new drugs & change of Venflons
- Fully air-conditioned gymnasium
- Kitchen - meals provided from the main hospital meal service and we have additional meals and snacks cooked in the ward kitchen . See Lite Bites menu
A separate facility comprising of 4 single bedded rooms with en-suite facilities for more patients suffering from more resistant infections - Administration offices where members of the multi-disciplinary team are accommodated and readily accessed when necessary
