Hello and welcome!
My name is Natalie, I am the founder of the West Midlands Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre website. I first became involved with the centre as my Dad began treatment for his CF there in 1990. He has been through some life changing transplants including Heart, lungs, liver and a kidney! The Centre has been treating him for several years, and I felt it was an excellent opportunity to give something back to the team and patients.
The website was part of my final year project whilst studying Multimedia and Communication Design at University. I approached the CF Team in November 2006, with the idea of designing a support network for anyone that is affected by CF, including friends, family and of those who have CF.
I am delighted the website has recently undergone an exciting revamp. It will be updated regularly with important information regarding changes in practices within the Centre, new treatments available and other related topics regarding CF issues. So watch this space for all the latest news!
From the project undertaken with the CF Centre I achieved a First Class Degree which has opened many opportunities for me professionally. I graduated in 2007 and worked as a Trainee Product Manager for Tesco's Christmas Gift Programme. This provided fantastic experience and allowed me to move to London to get my dream Job in Marketing for Sony PlayStation. I am working as Promotions Coordinator for the PlayStation Network.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in creating the website. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the patients and staff at the centre and I am grateful for all their help and support.
Finally, if you are in the process of arranging a fundraising event / opportunity please let us know so we can advertise this for you and raise as much money for the CF Centre as possible.
Take care and keep smiling
Natalie
