Tom McLoughlin, 41

Tom worked for the CF Trust for along time as a CF Advocate, then an Expert Patient Advisor. Over the last two years, Tom's life has dramatically changed. In February 2005, Tom met Lei who was working as a paediatric Nurse at Birmingham Children's Hospital and they became engaged. Their wedding as planned for 10 April 2006, but Tom became ill and literally had to get out of his hospital bed, go for a haircut and his wedding before returning to hospital for another six days. Tom and Lei underwent ICSI fertility treatment and took part in Robert Winston's TV program, Against All Odds about the treatment, which received great feedback from everyone, particularly fellow people with Cystic Fibrosis. Tom's new son was born in February this year.
